In the year

West Lake and northern lotus ponds bloom in June–July, peaking in June. The southern season runs longer and varies by pond. Outside this window, Gao Nau builds studio lotus concepts year-round.

In the day

Best at 5:30–8:00 AM (freshest lotus, soft light) or late afternoon 16:30–18:00. Early mornings should be booked ahead as the ponds get busy.

Do I need to book in advance? How early?+
Yes, especially for outdoor lotus. Because the season lasts only a few weeks and the best window is early morning, popular ponds get very busy at weekends in June and July. Gao Nau recommends booking at least 7–10 days ahead to secure your preferred date and time and to allow for the ao dai fitting and concept. If the weather is poor on the day (heavy rain), the team will proactively reschedule or switch to a studio lotus concept at no extra cost. How soon do I receive the photos?+
On the shoot day itself you receive all the original RAW files. You then review and choose your favourites for the team to retouch, keeping you and the lotus natural. Selected photos are carefully edited and delivered via download link or album; timing depends on the package and number of photos, and the team gives you a specific date when you book so you can plan. If you add a printed album, printing time is added. Throughout the process you can message us on Zalo to check progress.
