Both, but what most clients choose is studio lotus. We set up four different lotus concepts — warm earth tones, pure white, vintage moss green and soft morning pink — right in the studio, with real lotus and fully controlled lighting, keeping you private, cool and free of weather or crowds; especially suitable when shooting with babies, expecting mothers or elders. Do I need to book in advance? How early?+
Yes, especially for outdoor lotus. Because the season lasts only a few weeks and the best window is early morning, popular ponds get very busy at weekends in June and July. Gao Nau recommends booking at least 7–10 days ahead to secure your preferred date and time and to allow for the ao dai fitting and concept. If the weather is poor on the day (heavy rain), the team will proactively reschedule or switch to a studio lotus concept at no extra cost. Studio concepts are more flexible but should still be booked a few days ahead so we can arrange the team and prepare the freshest lotus for your session.
How soon do I receive the photos?+
On the shoot day itself you receive all the original RAW files. You then review and choose your favourites for the team to retouch, keeping you and the lotus natural. Selected photos are carefully edited and delivered via download link or album; timing depends on the package and number of photos, and the team gives you a specific date when you book so you can plan. If you add a printed album, printing time is added. Throughout the process you can message us on Zalo to check progress. Gao Nau commits to delivering the agreed number of photos on the agreed schedule, because each lotus set is a memory that cannot be reshot once the season is over.
Is a lotus shoot suitable for mothers-to-be, families or friends?+
Very much so. Lotus is a gentle backdrop that suits many groups. Expecting mothers in ao dai by the lotus get soft, serene images — Gao Nau chooses poses and timing so the mother is not tired. Families or groups of friends in matching ao dai by the pond is also a much-loved summer concept. For these cases, a studio lotus concept is often more convenient thanks to controlled lighting, resting space, cool air and safety for babies or elders.
